Choosing a thread adapter

Muzzle thread first, can thread second. For example, a 1/2x28 to 5/8x24 adapter lets a .30 cal can mount on a 9mm host.
Never adapt to a can rated for a smaller caliber than the host fires.
Concentricity matters. A cheap adapter that's off-center is the most common cause of baffle strikes.
