SilencerPart

Suppressor end caps & front caps

Firearm part

Caliber-specific front caps, rear caps and blast chambers. Front caps tighten the bore for smaller calibers and take the damage in a strike. They're silencer parts, so out-of-state sales ship to your FFL.

Why swap front caps

A multi-caliber can is bored for the biggest bullet it's rated for. A smaller-bore front cap gets you closer to a dedicated can when you shoot smaller calibers, and it's the cheapest part to replace if you clip it. Flat caps, brake-style caps and flash-hider caps also change recoil and flash.

What to check

  • Brand and model fit. Front-cap threads are proprietary (SilencerCo Omega, Dead Air Sandman, HUXWRX Flow and so on).
  • Bore diameter, and that it's at least as large as the biggest bullet you'll shoot through it.
  • Rear caps: the mount interface they use (HUB, ASR, KeyMo and others).

Common questions

Do I need an FFL to buy this?
If you and the seller live in different states, yes. The seller ships to your FFL and you complete a 4473 and background check there. If you live in the same state, federal law allows a private sale, but many states require an FFL transfer anyway. Check your state's rules before you meet.
